As a new Guerdon builder with several houses now under my belt, I would like to take a brief moment to describe the quality of home and more importantly the follow-up service I have experienced. It all begins with the Sales Staff that are absolutely tops at explaining products, pricing, and options. I build homes one at a time, yes one order at a time and can assure you they treat me as if I was ordering 100 homes at a time!
Then comes the home. The entire Guerdon Staff assists me in every way in getting the home shipped properly. And do they ship the house great; with heavy vinyl protection second to none. I order a lot of options on my homes and place them on high-end properties for resale. I can assure you that a Guerdon homes stands up to the competition in the semi-custom to custom market. And that quality is miles ahead of on-site track built homes.
Now I come to the part of the Guerdon experience that separates them other companies. Their customer service follow-up is absolutely amazing. Community Development Corporation of Utah (CDC) chose Guerdon Homes of Boise, Idaho as the company to design and build these homes due to the high quality product it produces and the company’s ability to deliver the homes where needed. Guerdon uses what it calls “systems-built” technology which is defined as “a fast-growing modern form of new home construction using pre-built modular homes and recognized for its increased efficiency and ability to apply advanced technology to the needs of today’s market place.” Guerdon builds these modular homes on a large assembly line in a climate-controlled factory, and then transports them to the job site where the homes are positioned by crane onto their foundations. A trained crew then completes the onsite assembly which typically includes building a porch, finishing the roof, and completing other design details.
According to Jeff Hayden, CDC Construction Manager, “The benefits of modular housing include efficient and more affordable building methods than standard site-built construction, reduce dependence on subcontractors, and have consistent quality throughout.” The homes Guerdon builds are not manufactured housing and are built to comply with standard building codes and are valued and appraised the same as site-built structures. What is more, uncharacteristic of manufactured homes, there modular homes are built with any roof pitch the own desires, giving them a traditional look.

We want to thank you for our Guerdon house. Our house was built last year in our forest located in Northeast Washington on our private ridge. This was our first winter here. We had quite a brutal winter with over four feet of snow sitting on our roof during the deepest period. While neighbors shoveled their roofs we sat in the comfort of our living room with a fire in the Hearthstone wood burning stove keeping nice and warm. We are glad that we took the Guerdon Engineer’s advice on going with the 100 lb per square foot snow load, 8/12 pitch roof design.
